My expertise is in strength and conditioning (B.Sc Sports Science 2007), Physiotherapy (B.Sc Physiotherapy 2011) and from my years as a competitive boxer (Olympian Boxing 2012, Commonwealth Games 2014 and 2018 – Bronze). My aim was to go out into the big wide world and heal my clients with my new found healing hands and wonderful treatments I had been taught. My outlook on my role as your physiotherapist has changed with experience. Passive hands-on only treatments only are great for initial symptom relief but I believe supervised safe/effective exercise with education is the most powerful medicine we all have. My aim is to empower you on your health and wellness journey. This approach is only going to be effective if your willing to put in some work too.
Growing up, I remember my mum dragged me along up Table Mountain in Cape Town on Sunday mornings. As a youngster, it was a love hate relationship. I hated the start of the walk, it seemed like such a long way and so much effort was required. When I could see we were nearly at the top my mood lifted. The joy and feeling of accomplishment of finishing something that was hard was the best feeling to me even way back then. This is where I believe my love for being active came from. I got it from my mamma. Since then, activity has been a big part of my life. It has done wonders for my self esteem, self confidence and mental wellbeing. I believe exercise is powerful medicine for the body, mind and soul. This is why I want to help you on your exercise and wellness journey. I really love working one on one and I am also available for small groups and corporate group sessions.
You have not only helped me rebuild myself up from injury and surgery, but rebuilt my confidence to resume activities I love in spite of my injury apprehension – healing on all levels!
